VW Emissions Claim in Manchester, Blackburn & Lancashire

Curtis Law Solicitors LLP are currently investigating causes of action against VW (including Audi, Skoda and Seat), in light of the emission scandal, with a view to bringing a Group Action.

As is widely reported officials in the United States have uncovered a software device that allegedly affect emission tests.  Such testing is a crucial factor to limit Nitrogen Oxide dispersed in the air, thereby producing vehicles which are ecological friendly.

The cars manufactured by the Volkswagen Group contain a system called the “Defeat device”. That program allegedly switches the engine to a low emissions mode during testing.

In the United States Volkswagen has admitted the defeat device being used in order to allow their vehicles to be classed as having lower emissions.  Presently Volkswagen has not admitted the same in the United Kingdom and Europe. Although reports indicate that Volkswagen Group have admitted to the German Minister the alleged manipulation of emissions data in Germany[1].

The Volkswagen Group are reported to have put aside £4.7 billion to cover costs of oncoming litigation.
