Clinical Negligence at Curtis Law

01 March 2019

At Curtis law we offer one of the most experienced Clinical Negligence teams in Lancashire outside of Manchester City Centre.

Clinical incidents do happen for a variety of reasons, normally linked however to an overloaded, underpaid and under supported NHS workforce. Tired and overstretched clinical staff will make errors because they are essentially fire fighting their extensive patient list. The key reason for Negligence is underfunding from central government. When things do go wrong it is important that you are properly represented.

Our two senior Solicitors, Jerard Knott (Senior Associate and Head of Department) and Lynne Ainsworth have acted for hundreds of injured patients recovering millions of pounds over their careers to assist the recovery of those unnecessarily injured.

Jerard specialises in Claims involving Birth Injury (including Stillbirth and Neonatal deaths), Complex Orthopaedic Injury, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Fatal Accidents and Inquests. Jerard is an APIL Accredited Clinical Negligence Specialist and APIL’s Clinical Negligence Special Interest Group Coordinator.

Lynne is a Brain Injury, Birth Injury and Cancer misdiagnosis specialist. Lynne is also a Law Society Accredited Clinical Negligence Specialist.

Supplementing their experience are Solicitors Kate Rushton and Hassan Mohammed who each qualified at Curtislaw. Each have a more general Clinical Negligence practice and have recovered settlements of £500,000. Kate has significant Complex orthopaedic experience, while Hassan is developing a Specialist expertise in cancer misdiagnosis and gastrointestinal injury.

Recently we welcomed Salma Ahmed (BVC) and Daniel Moffitt (LLB) to the team who add extra capability to the team. Salma and Daniel are beginning their journey towards Chartered Legal Executive qualification specialising in Clinical Negligence.

We are constantly looking for excellent new talent who want to be part of the team committed to providing the best for unnecessarily injured patients.

At Curtis law you will be in safe experienced hands. We want lessons to be learned and clinical errors to be properly reflected upon. We are your solution providers. We are committed to improving patient safety, regularly contributing to debates and consultations on NHS improvement and trying to reduce frequency of avoidable Clinical incidents.

We believe it is important that you can access advice and always will discuss any enquiry without commitment at the outset.
